Mouse Battery Power

Did you know that if you leave your wireless mouse alone
for more than eight minutes, it will be sleeping when you
come back. The reason they go into the sleep mode is to
save some battery life, which is of course, very helpful.

Well, there are a couple other things you can do to save
the battery life of your wireless mouse as well. There is
one practice that may not be too practical for everyone,
but if you're able, you can always try it. I'm talking
about using your mouse as little as possible. If you know
several keyboard shortcuts, you should use them! (Or at
least use as many as you can). The less you click your
mouse, the more battery life you will save.

I know keyboard shortcuts are hard to learn and it's even
harder to remember all of them, so another thing you can do
is keep your mouse on a white piece of paper or a highly
reflective surface when it is resting. This will help
conserve some of the battery power too.

Some Tips on Using Forum Posting
Copyright © AdMistress 2008

===================

Some Tips on Using Forum Posting

What are Forums?

Forums are discussions boards where people congregate on
the internet to chat with, share ideas, etc., with people
who have similar interests. Forums can be found on just
about any subject imaginable, and some you would not!

If you wish to find people interested in a particular
subject fourms are an ideal way of finding them.

If you have a business in a particular field, joining
forums related to that is a good way to get your word out
to a targetted market.

Finding Forums:

Finding forums is usually as easy as doing a search on the
main search engines. This will bring up way more than you
will need, but to make your time worthwhile, search out the
most popular forums for the subject you are interested in.
Those with the largest, regular user, memberships, will
give your postings the most exposure.

Using a Forum:

There are guidelines to be followed to stay in the good
graces of the moderators and other users of most forums.
It is strongly advised that you read through the rules and
guidelines provided for any forum before you join. Find out
what their rules are regarding advertising, signature files,
etc. to make sure it is worth your while joining.

Once you have found a forum (or forums) which you feel suit
your purpose, you will have to register. This is usually
easy to do and takes a couple of minutes.

Simply joining a forum and then placing blatant adverts will
get you barred swiftly from the majority of forums. However,
if you follow a few simple steps you can enjoy the company
on the forum and at the same time do a little subtle
advertising, which can be very effective.

Your first post should introduce yourself. You are joining
a community after all, be polite. Stay on subject in your
postings, do not start posting about something completely
different. Follow the flow of posts. Either ask intellegent
questions about the subject being discussed, offer a valid
comment or even answer a question if you can.

In other words, begin to fit in with the community and build
a presence within the group. Once others see that you
respect their group, and want to fit in with its values,
etc., you will be accepted and they will want to know more
about you.  This is when your membership of forums really
begins to pay dividends.

Never blatently advertise. Many forums allow what is called
a signature file which is usually one or two lines which
appear at the bottom of any posting you make. Again check
what exactly each forum does or does not allow.

Make your signature file interesting, but short. Use a
catchy message, usually with only one, or at most two links.
If allowed use colours and/ or bold lettering to attract
attention. Changing the signature file regularly also
attracts attention.

By taking it slowly, and becoming a respected member of the
forum, you will find that other forum members will begin to
pay attention to your postings, and your signature file.
Your postings will build your reputation as knowledgeable
on the subject, and they will want to see what you are
doing and offering  through your links.

Although it may take a little time to establish yourself in
a forum, by posting regularly you can fairly quickly become
known and accepted and see the results of your efforts.

Harley Davidson Hits A Ton

Author: fxtream1

Unbelievably, the Harley-Davidson company has been around
for over 100 years, HD was begun by two friends in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1903. William Harley and Arthur
Davidson began working on the prototype, and eventually
brought in the help of Arthur\'s brothers, Walter and
William. Together, their working relationship founded the
HD Company, later this company would grow enough to deserve
to be incorporated, with the help of Walter\'s skills as a
mechanic and William Davidson\'s abilities to make tools.

The first year, 1903, was a slimmer year than future ones
would be, in terms of production, Harley-Davidson only
produced 3 pre-paid motorcycles. \'Silent Gray Fellows\'
was a term of endearment given to these early motorcycles,
as they were all made from the standard gray color. By
1905, the Company had grown at such a rate that they were
now selling motorcycle motors, marine motors, reversible
propellers, and float feed carburetors along with the
standard motorcycles.

Harley-Davidson motorcycles gained even more notoriety and
popularity as the next decade progressed. By 1914, nine
departments of the federal government of the United States
used them, including the U.S. Postal service who used more
than 4,800 for rural mail delivery. Pancho Villa came face
to face with the government\'s love affair with HD\'s in
1916, when motorcycles equipped with machine guns entered
the fray against him. The federal government did not ease
up on their use of HD during the first World War, on the
contrary, the government purchased fifty percent of all of
the HD motorcycles during this period and shipped them
overseas for the military to use.

The 1920\'s brought an end to the war and a beginning to
the world of racing where they made quite an impact. The
Great Depression of the following decade did affect
Harley-Davidson, but the company was able to thrive
nonetheless. With the advent of World War II in the
following decade, HDs went into service for the government
once again.

The company continued to grow throughout the 1950s, as
their marketing tactics grew in aggressiveness. Once again
war broke out, this time in Korea but unfortunately
motorcycles were replaced in popularity with the military
with the Jeep. Civilian consumers more than made up for the
lack of government contracts, Harley-Davidson responded by
continuing to concentrate on the civilians who bought their
products.

The company was not immune to the undercurrent of
transformations that took place in the decade of the 1960s.
The company met this wind of change head on with the
decision to branch out and begin producing a 3-wheeled cart
for golfers. By the end of the decade these carts cornered
about one third of the United States market, and were even
used oversees. Harley-Davidson also began marketing an
extensive line of motorcycle accessories.

Racing once again became a focus during the 1970s, as
Harley-Davidson motorcycles received advances in technology
that allowed them to make great strides in the sport.
Following a buyback in the 1980s, HD became a private
enterprise again. The company\'s interest in building high
quality machines continued, and this caused them to win
contract deals with the California Highway Patrol in 1984,
1985, 1987, 1988 and 1989.

The 1990s included the addition of the FLSTF Fatboy to the
Harley-Davidson line of customized factory motorcycles. The
goal of the new bike was to invoke the feel of past bikes
while keeping up to date. The Twenty first century has come
and the company remains strong. There are a number of lines
of bikes made by the HD company, and these include the
Sporster, the Dyna, the Softail, the VRSC, and a Touring
line, the amount of models that branch off from those lines
are numerous.
